How accurate is the due date calculation?
Only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. The due date is an estimate — a full-term pregnancy ranges from 37 to 42 weeks. The 40-week calculation (280 days from LMP) is the standard method used by healthcare providers worldwide.
What's the difference between LMP and conception date?
LMP (Last Menstrual Period) is the first day of your last period. Conception typically occurs about 14 days after LMP. The due date is 40 weeks from LMP or 38 weeks from conception. The LMP method is more commonly used since conception dates are harder to pinpoint.
How is the trimester calculated?
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters: First trimester (weeks 1-13), second trimester (weeks 14-27), and third trimester (weeks 28-40). Each trimester marks different stages of fetal development and changes in the mother's body.
What if my cycle is irregular?
