What's the difference between MPG and L/100km?
MPG (miles per gallon) measures how far you can travel on one gallon — higher is better. L/100km (liters per 100 kilometers) measures how much fuel you use per 100 km — lower is better. The calculator supports both systems.
Does this account for city vs. highway driving?
No — this calculator uses a single efficiency value. For mixed driving, use an average of your city and highway MPG or L/100km. Most newer cars display combined efficiency.
Can I use this for electric vehicles?
This calculator is designed for fuel-based vehicles. For EVs, you'd need cost per kWh and vehicle efficiency in miles/kWh or Wh/km. We have separate tools for those calculations.
